This drawing was inspired by [link] So I tried to draw my own superhero.

Her name is Ada. She's a fun-loving wild spirit that loves what she does. She's a professional fighter and has the power of super strength. Her weapon is a steal pole and she hates hitting people on the face (unless they really deserve it). She used to be a competitor, but once she found her power and realized her true strength, she decided to retire early. She could take anyone down, but there's no point in showing it off in rank. It wouldn't be fair to the other competitors. I named her Ada because she's as strong and invincible as a diamond.

Anyway, I wanted to take part on this contest because I have my own opinion on body image. I understand that for comics, they want what can be considered perfect...I have an issue with the word "perfect"

To me, perfect, is a word to describe what's best at the moment. Some things can be objectively right, but for the most part everything can change. What's perfect now won't be perfect forever when something new comes up/when we become more open minded and learn more.

If it's the perfection of beauty that the comic book world wants, then fine. They can go for the huge boob/thin waist thing all they want. But they have to admit it.

If it's physical perfection that they want...then how is a little fat going to stop someone? Fat is stored energy that people would use up. Just because some people don't get to use it and keep it stored doesn't make it ideally evil.

Also...WTF do the size of boobs have anything to do with physical fitness? Let alone the LIFT of those boobs. Why is it that the only acceptable place for body fat on a woman is her BOOBS? And maybe the butt....but that's as far as it looks like it will go.

I think I'll do more entries for this contest. It's pretty fun exploring various strengths in different body types. I don't get why it's not a good idea to put some variety for superheroes anyway. Can't the comic book artists have a little fun and do something different once in a while?
